Nature Valley Granola Thins Peanut Butter, 10 ct. (Pack of 6) Review

I picked these up based on curiosity over a new item. I was disappointed in their small size, but the taste they pack is worth it! The taste reminds me exactly of a certain peanut-butter sandwich cookie sold door-to-door. I was literally blown away by how nummy these bars are!
I wouldn't recommend these as meal-replacements like some granola products, but they're the perfect pick-me-up treat.

South Beach Living Fiber Fit Bars, Mocha, 5-Count Bars in 6.15-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 8) Review

South Beach Living Fiber Fit Bars, Mocha, 5-Count Bars in 6.15-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 8)

These FiberFit bars in Mocha flavor have no HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) nor any transfats, which is a very good thing. Each bar has 4g of fat (2.5 sat fat), 120 calories, 9g of fiber (very good for its size!), 125mg of sodium (not too bad) and 7g of sugars (not bad for a granola bar, since they are often glorified candy bars). My only two concerns nutritionally are that there are 3g of sugar alcohols (I've heard bad things about those) and that there is only 2g of protein. The latter is only a problem if you plan to use these bars as a meal replacement. With all that fiber, it may fill you up for a while, but with that little protein, it is very unlikely to last you to your next meal, esp. given the small size.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the taste. Mocha, a combination of chocolate and coffee flavors, is one of my favorite flavors of ice cream, so I thought I'd probably enjoy this flavor of granola bar and I did. It has a distinct mocha flavor. It is also chewy (and a little gooey due to the caramel layer) and a little crunchy. I rarely ever buy granola bars, but I liked these quite a bit!

Nature Valley Chewy Trail Mix Bars, Fruit & Nut, 6-Count Boxes (Pack of 12) Review

Nature Valley Chewy Trail Mix Bars, Fruit and Nut, 6-Count Boxes (Pack of 12)
Average Reviews:

Shame on Nature Valley for trying to pull the wool over our eyes! If you were a fan of these bars when they first came out, then be warned. The recipe has changed and the bars are much different and NOT for the better. Not only are they much smaller, they also contain far fewer nuts/fruit and the bar itself now has an airier consistency like the Rice Krispie's treat.
How do I know all this? I bought these bars on a regular basis from Costco and still had some leftover bars from the first batch and I was able to compare them side by side. These were always my favorite hiking snack and now they aren't much better than every other bar out there. I think Nature Valley will quickly regret its decision once they realize that their are a lot of unhappy customers. I'd gladly pay a little extra if it meant keeping the bars the way they were.
If you don't believe me then by all means buy them and judge for yourself.

I don't know what Nature Valley has done. They have made a product that I have no self-control over. I will literally have three bars in one sitting and then have to punish myself by taking an extra trip to the gym for cardio. I am amazed of how delicious a granola type bar could possibly taste. It is the perfect balance of sweet and salty, and the buttery, maple-ish coating is to die for. Everyone I know loves them and I have greed issues when people ask me for one. I like to hide them and deny I eat them in fear of an intervention!!

These 90 calorie snack bags are very good. The cinnamon is the best. I would like to be able to buy boxes of the cinnamon bites instead of the assortment.

Caribou Coffee Bars, Chocolate Mocha, 7.4-Ounces (Pack of 6) Review

Caribou Coffee Bars, Chocolate Mocha, 7.4-Ounces (Pack of 6)

I spoke with General Mills today (twice, before I got the real scoop). Caribou Coffee bars are no longer being made. CALL THEM at 800-248-7310 and tell them how disappointed you are! Maybe they will bring them back. Truly the best tasting bars ever made. I've been having one for breakfast with my coffee every morning for over a year. I have just one bar left, perhaps I should save it to reverse-engineer the recipe, or sell it on ebay for a small fortune?

Weight Watchers Three Flavor Assortment Chocolate Low Calorie Whitman's Candy Chocolates 40 Piece Bag Review

Weight Watchers Three Flavor Assortment Chocolate Low Calorie Whitman's Candy Chocolates 40 Piece Bag
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Weight Watchers Sugar Free Chocolate Candy assortment (made by Whitman's) is a fairly good snack food to have on hand for dieters but perhaps not for diabetics. While these are billed as low calorie, the recommended serving size of three pieces have 150 calories and about 13 net carbs (8 from sugar). That is a lot to be concerned about on a regular basis, but ok for the occasional snack. I try to limit myself to one or two pieces a day.
My favorite in this pack are the Pecan Crowns, which taste almost like regular candy. The Coconut has a slight aftertaste that isn't too bad but is noticeable.
It should also be noted that these are also sweetened with Maltitol and Sorbitol, which can cause "gastric distress" in large quantities. I advise people to take it easy on these until they know how they are going to react.
Overall, these are a good alternative to regular candies. Recommended!

Eat Natural Almond & Apricot Bar with Yogurt Coating, 12-Count Boxes Review

Eat Natural Almond and Apricot Bar with Yogurt Coating, 12-Count Boxes
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been carrying Larabars with me as a gluten-free snack, and bought "Eat Natural" almond & apricot bars to give them a try after seeing the glowing reviews. They are indeed delicious - though I find the coconut and yogurt flavors come through much more strongly than the apricot. They're somewhat more filling than Larabars - 235 calories vs. 180 calories, in both cases half fat. There's big difference in saturated fat - 9 grams for "Eat Natural", 1 for Larabars, and "Eat Natural" bars have almost 20 times the sodium (95 mg, as compared to 5 mg), and half the fiber (2 grams as compared to the Larabar's four). "Eat Natural" ingredients don't get any more unnatural-sounding than soya lecithin, glucose syrup, and dextrose - but the list is certainly a whole lot longer than my Larabar's "dates, almonds, unsweetened apples, walnuts, raisins, cinnamon" (yes, that's all).
These "Eat Natural" bars do taste good and are a little better at killing hunger pangs than Larabars. I might buy them again sometime if I find I need a snack that's a little better at killing hunger but think I'll stick to Larabars in the meantime.
