However, I made a recent trip to walmart and the price of one box was $4.00. So it would have been cheaper just to buy six boxes at walmart than order off of amazon! I recommend you cross check the prices at your local stores and make sure you're actually saving your money by subscribing.

Planters Big Nut Bars, Roasted Triple Nut, 5-Count Bars (Pack of 10) Review

(More customer reviews)I discovered Planters Big Nut Bars - the Triple Nut variety - about two years ago. When they became hard to find at my local supermarket, I started ordering them by the case from Amazon. Now, Amazon only offers them through a third-party seller and the cost to have a case delivered has jumped from around $30.00 (give or take) to more than $80.00. I sent an email to Planters asking about their distribution problems, but never received a reply. Has anyone else had trouble finding these bars at a reasonable price? If you're still finding them - where? Needless to say, I like these bars very much.

(More customer reviews)There are five of these in one box, so with a 5 pack, you get 25 bars. They're the same idea as Fig Newtons or Nutragrain bars, though I think these taste less like fake junk food and have a better flavor in general. They're soft with a nice mix of apple-cinnamon. The filling tastes more like applesauce and less like plastic-gel filling of some other cereal bars.
The size works for a toddler snack or as the "cookie" in a kid (or grown-up) lunch. With 110 calories each and 3g of fat, they're certainly treats, but they are made with evaporated cane juice, apple powder, whole grain oats and barley, and sunflower oil, so I'd rather send these than regular cookies. They're just a bit pricey, though, if you don't get them on sale.
Mine only had a shelf life of 4 months, so possibly stocking up for the whole school year isn't an option.

Low sugar, might not be sweet enough for some, but I thought it was great. Although very small in size, they are not insignificant and can work as a meal filler but I would not rely on them for this. Low calories per bar very convenient. Probably, too expensive with shipping and handling, but I will probably be getting them again.

(More customer reviews)Mrs. May's Trio bars are my favorite snack/energy bars. I love them. They come in four flavors. Cranberry is not my favorite of those flavors, but I still really like it, just not as much as blueberry and strawberry. Though cranberries are pretty tart, the cranberry bar is not noticeably tarter than the others. It does seem less sweet to me than the blueberry and strawberry ones, but the carbs and sugars are the same so it may be my imagination.
The name comes from the ingredients. The bars have a trio of trios: 3 nuts, 3 seeds and 3 fruits. The nuts, seeds and 2 of the fruits are the same in all the flavors. The nuts are cashews, almonds & pistachios. The seeds are sesame, pumpkin, & sunflower. The two fruits that are in all the flavors are dates and raisins, but you don't really see or taste them so I wonder if they are cooked down into the "glue" that holds all the other ingredients together. The third fruit in the cranberry flavor is dried cranberry. The only other ingredients are rice malt, natural flavors, cane juice and sea salt.
These are great bars for anyone who has issues with wheat or dairy. The label says they are wheat free, gluten free, dairy free and kosher. They also have no preservatives. If you have peanut allergies, the label says they are packaged in a peanut free facility that processes other nuts.
Because of the nuts, they have 12 grams of fat per bar, but I've been reading articles that say nuts are a great snack and the fat in nuts is "good" fat. The label says there is 1.5 grams of saturated fat which surprised me but I guess some of the fat in nuts must be saturated. To round out the rest of the nutrition facts: calories, 170; total carbs, 14g; dietary fiber, 2g; sugars, 6g; protein, 5g; cholesterol, 0g; trans fat, 0g; and sodium, 45mg.
I love the nuts and seeds and the bars don't have the mealy texture that a lot of energy/snack bars have. They are low sodium but high in taste and they are really satisfying. I used to get granola bars but these are so much better.

(More customer reviews)I have been a fan of Nature Valley granola bars for years. They come in many varieties. My favorites lately have been the Pecan Crunch and Peanut Butter bars. So, I was pleased to learn that Amazon now offers the bars in their many different types.
Certainly, Oats and Honey are a classic combination. Oats go way back. Samuel Johnson included a definition of oats in his 1755 Dictionary of the English Language. I have adapted liberally from his definition for my title. Actually, Samuel Johnson said: "Oats: A grain, which in England is generally given to horses, but in Scotland appears to support the people." Little did he know that two and a half centuries later, England's colonial offspring would enthusiastically endorse oats as a food for people.
Earlier this month, I spent a week skiing in Colorado at Vail, The ticket counters were equipped with baskets of the Oats and Honey bars provided free of charge. It was a nice gesture considering the almost $100 daily ticket price. The granola bars pack nearly 100 calories for a single bar, and obviously double that for a two-bar pack.
I took the Oats bars with me skiing, but I also depend on them for hiking. An extra 200 calories is what you may need to give you enough energy to get up the last 200 feet to a mountain summit. The taste is good. They do not melt. If you get tired of the Oats, there is always a choice: Pecan, Almond, or Peanut Butter, to provide variety.

There are 4 "servings"/480 calories per bag, so this healthy snack is NOT for those looking to shed pounds. But when the first ingredient is cashews, you'd have to expect that. Realistically, I'd say there are about 2 servings per bag. More sweet than salty; IMO, would taste better with a bit more salt. Sodium is 20mg per serving (80mg per bag) for those who are counting.

I highly recommend finishing a bag in one sitting, but if you are unable to consume approximately 720 calories (405 fat calories) of natural goodness like a big boy, you can reseal the bag. These 100% natural snacks are lightly sweet and a little salty as they should be.

If you want OATMEAL RAISIN continue your search at local grocery stores. You may end up with something you DID NOT ORDER! Too much bother to return because it was such a small item but suggest you look elsewhere. This is the only thing from Amazon which has been a disappointment.
