This product must qualify for some sort of deceptive packaging award. The box only contains 5 bars and the wrappers are smaller than normal, so at least 50% of the interior of the box is air. Then when you unwrap the bar you find they are only about 60% the length of a "normal" snack bar. The rest of it is empty air inside the wrapper. If they were to not include wrappers those 5 bars would occupy less than 25% of the space inside the box.
As far as taste goes they are so-so. On the dry side with a hint of berry flavor. Celiacs, who are used to inferior products, won't be disappointed in the taste of this one.
I've also had their cookies and they suffer from the same sort of deceptive packaging. The picture on the side of the box shows what most of us would consider a normal sized cookie. But when you open the box you find that it mostly contains a plastic tray holding cookies about the size of a quarter.
I really want to like this company. They seem to be trying hard and coming out with new products and keeping allergens out of the production process. That is why I've continued to try their products. I bought their granola many times, always wanting to like it, but it is some of the worst food I've ever had. The "clusters" are hard as the partially popped kernels at the bottom of your bag of popcorn and more fitting for gerbils than people.
All in all I would not recommend Enjoy Life foods.

There are five of these in one box, so with a 5 pack, you get 25 bars. They're the same idea as Fig Newtons or Nutragrain bars, though I think these taste less like fake junk food and have a better flavor in general. They're soft with a nice mix of apple-cinnamon. The filling tastes more like applesauce and less like plastic-gel filling of some other cereal bars.
The size works for a toddler snack or as the "cookie" in a kid (or grown-up) lunch. With 110 calories each and 3g of fat, they're certainly treats, but they are made with evaporated cane juice, apple powder, whole grain oats and barley, and sunflower oil, so I'd rather send these than regular cookies. They're just a bit pricey, though, if you don't get them on sale.
Mine only had a shelf life of 4 months, so possibly stocking up for the whole school year isn't an option.

These are fantastic! My children have a combination of nut, milk and egg allergies, so this is a great protein alternative (to milk) for breakfast, or anytime.

i was very disappointed by the very small size, but i was shocked by the brick-like texture of a bar that has chewy in the name on the box. it tastes good, but small size and very hard texture were not what i had in mind. i called amazon with my complaint and i received a full refund. thank you.

Enjoy Life Foods 61826 Boom Choco Boom Dark Chocolate Bar Review

This would be a fabulous chocolate bar even if it were not gluten-free and dairy-free. It definitely is the best tasting GF/DF candy we have found. Too bad the price is so high. Or maybe that's a good thing for keeping my consumption lower. I'm finding the Amazon-posted price today even higher than what we pay at our local Whole Foods. I watch for sales.

Buyers beware that this sale is for 1 box of 5 cookies NOT five, 5-Count Boxes as what seems to be advertised here. I thought I was buying "in bulk" - five, 5-piece boxes - at what is competitive, albeit slightly more expensive than several retailers that sell the same cookies; the few cents more was not an issue since free delivery is a plus. Surprisingly, I received one box of 5 cookies for the outrageous price of $18.85. Hopefully, the Amazon webmaster will correct the description so that the next buyer knows exactly what he/she is paying for - 1 box of cookies. The Amazon rep was very helpful in rectifying situation which was the only saving grace here. I'd be happy to buy again in the future and give 4 stars if this does indeed become a five, 5-count box offer.
